Papua New Guinea is a country of unparalleled natural beauty, yet it faces significant challenges when it comes to road connectivity. The very essence of the "Connect PNG Road Transport Development Program" stems from the acknowledgment of these hurdles. Inadequate funding, rough terrain, and a lack of road access for a substantial part of the population have long hindered the nation's development.
The absence of a comprehensive road network limits economic opportunities, hindering trade and income generation.
Inadequate road access isolates communities, restricting healthcare, education, and employment, impacting overall well-being.
Connect PNG 2020-2040 is Marape/Rosso Government's signature policy to develop and rebuild the country's economic road infrastructure on a 20-year program. It provides a strategic pathway of implementing the National Economic Corridor Development Plan that will connect services and economic opportunities to over 6 million people by 2050.
